Photocentric was formed in 2002 to exploit a simple idea- handling liquids is difficult, it’s better to handle them in a package.  The original idea was created a few years earlier on a business trip to Russia selling liquid polymer. A customer complained how messy liquid polymer was to use and asked why there wasn’t a better, cleaner and more consistent way. Back in the lab we started to develop the world's first pre-packaged form of photopolymer. Our first samples looked very crude by today's standards, but they proved the concept, a patent was written and granted and people loved it!

Cleaner, faster and better...
Our first two years were spent developing manufacturing methods- working out by trial and error how to effectively contain liquid in plastic. We improved the properties and sales grew around the world. From the beginning we noticed one significant fact, that when users converted to imagepac, they never went back, and this has underpinned its success- it is a cleaner, faster, easier and better way to make printing plates.

Creating optimised products for industry...
Over the years we have brought out different versions of imagepac optimised for different markets. When then couldn’t find the right exposure units that we wanted to use ourselves, we manufactured our own. When we found conventional methods of negative making too cumbersome, we optimised direct printing from inkjet and lasers. When we couldn’t get the exact properties of the resin that we wanted, we started manufacturing our own photopolymer. We have developed the latest polymer technology from 20 durometer flexographic grades, 50 durometer business stamp, super clear craft stamp and daylight curing polymer through to 90 durometer moulding grades.

We believe there is always a better way...
Our policy has always been the same, never blindly accept what is available, always question if there is a better product or process. Today we produce millions of different sized polymer packages with and without integrated backing sheets. We are the creator and world leader in this area. We have provided users with a hybrid between sheet and liquid polymer, offering the benefits of both without their respective drawbacks. We have patented numerous inventions in the field of flexographic printing. We design and fabrcate the largest format stamp making machine ever made down to the lowest cost professional stamp making machine. We are the world leaders in home stamp making, originating the concept and developing it into its optimised format of Stampmaker.
