Making a negative on the HP1020 series

Instructions to make a negative directly using on the HP1020 laser printer. Store the vellum in the sealed envelope when not in use and keep away from heat or humidity. Handle film by the edges only. Insert film either way round into printer

In Microsoft Windows click Start, Settings, Printers.

Select the HP1020 printer, right-click and open Properties from the drop down menu.  Select Configure from the drop down menu and change the ink density to 5.

Press Print and in Properties select Paper/Quality and change the paper type to vellum. 

Then still in Print select Finishing change Print Quality to FastRes1200.

Then to speed up future use, in Paper/Quality and in Quick Sets you can set a template to ‘vellum’ to save these settings for future use.

Do not touch the printed surface until fully dry.
