Using imagepac and imagepac xtra in imagebox 9
Open the glass drawer. Place negative on the glass so that you can read the text. Ensure bulbs are warm before each use. Ensure sachets are kept at room temperature. Lay the sachet over the negative. If using imagepac place sachet either side up, if using imagepac xtra place sachet so that soft side is next to the negative and the rigid side is facing you. Close upper glass and compress using clamps until sachet resin has flattened. Set Back Exposure to between 15 and 30 secs, The lower the back exposure is, the lower the floor and the deeper the relief, the higher it is the higher the floor and the less the relief. Set Main exposure to between 250 and 400 secs. You can check if the sachet is correctly exposed by pressing it with your fingers. You should be able to feel firm text surrounded by liquid resin. If the liquid resin is not deep enough then reduce the back exposure time, if the text is soft or flies away when compressed then increase the main exposure time. Close drawer and press the back and main exposure buttons. Open the drawer and remove the sachet. Cut the side that was next to the negative with a scalpel (this will have text in reverse on), just inside the seal. Fill the wash out unit with water up to the brushes. Add a generous pour of wash out agent. Change your water every 25 A4 plates or the equivalent. Ensure that the green sticky plate is dry. Press the plate onto the green sticky plate and peel the cut piece of plastic off, taking care not to touch the resin. Lower the washout and close the lid and start washing cycle. Fill the post exposure tray with about half a centimetre of water. Add a teaspoon of imagepac Post Exposure Salts to the post exposure water every time the water is changed. Set the post-exposure or de-tack time to between 250 and 500 secs and press the button. Remove the plate and dry it off. Cut up your stamps and mount them.
